Lovely play area in a rural setting - very the school and local pub in Blackford, Wedmore Somerset
Cheddar Vale Lions Club was founded in 1972 and serves the communities of Wedmore, Cheddar, Winscombe, Axbridge, Draycott and the rest of the Cheddar Valley.
We support local voluntary organisations, through fund raising, actively support all those less fortunate than ourselves through community service projects, support youth projects and have social events.
We meet on 2nd Thursday of each month at 7.30pm at Winscombe Social Club, Sandford Road, Winscombe.
“Friends of St Mary’s” gathers together the efforts and support of those who do not regularly come to services but who nevertheless feel warmly towards the church as a community center, as a beautiful building and as the backdrop to their village lives.
Please join us and help maintain and enhance this lovely building

Harvest Homes started when farmers put on a meal with cider to thank the workers for bringing in the harvest. Wedmore's event has now evolved into a full day of events, starting with a Church Service, followed by a Display, which includes a Harvest Home King, Queen and Princess. Local organisations and families take part in the display by dressing up, showcasing a classic car or by having colourful trailers.
There is a lunch for ladies and gentlemen over the age of 16, in the marquee on The Village Field followed by children's sports events (weather depending) and then a tea.
The evening is full of entertainment, often with a tribute band playing to a packed marquee. Wedmore's HH traditionally takes place on the third weekend in August.

We are a club, run by volunteers, for the senior citizens of Wedmore and the district. The club is now held at the Wedmore Village Hall, every Tuesday from 10:30 to 2:30. We provide coffee and biscuits on arrival, a freshly cooked 2 course lunch (usually a roast), and afternoon tea and cake.
We have speakers, sing-a-longs and occasionally outings, but are mainly a social group, especially for those on their own.
Fantastic play area for young children. Lots of activity swings and slides etc.
