Mendip Scout Base is the home of Wedmore Scout Group, and is located in Combe Lane, on the edge of the village. Due to its location and the facilities that it offers, both inside and outside, it is an ideal location for family gatherings, birthday parties, social events and meetings.
It is well insulated, double glazed, and has oil fired central heating that also provides the hot water supply; so it's ‘cosy’ even in the colder months. It has a large well-lit hall for general use, a modern kitchen with catering facilities for up to 40 people, including tables, chairs and benches; as well as toilet facilities and emergency lighting.
Outside there is a grassed area at the side and rear of the building that is floodlight and securely fenced, which is suitable for barbeques and other outdoor activities, including children’s games; as well as a stoned parking area.
For Scout and other youth organisations staying overnight, there is also a bunk room for three people, a shower, and a drying room to deal with wet clothing; as well as charging points for USB devices.

Theale Village Hall
Thinking of having a party and have more friends than space? Why not consider hiring Theale Village Hall?
There's a fully equipped kitchen, with cutlery and table china to cater for 80 people. Enough chairs to seat up to 90 people, enough tables to seat your guests at and stage facilities if required.

The large windows of the hall were completely re-glazed with modern toughened glass and the stone mullions surrounding them repaired and partially replaced in 2011. This project cost £19,000 and was funded by Sedgemoor District Council, Somerset County Council and generous sponsorship of individual window panes by Parishioners, local organisations and businesses.
Improvement and refurbishment of the hall is ongoing. The toilet facilities were recently completely replaced, the Small Hall redecorated and the Snug floor replaced with high quality ceramic tiling.
